This Blog is Dead...

I am killing it.

As of this moment, I will no longer post updates regarding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U.

When I began this blog, I envisioned it as being able to speculate about the vague info that we get from the website. But the website's updates are SO vague that speculation is simply impossible.

It's just not fun for me anymore.

And seeing as how I don't think anyone actually reads this blog, it's not fun for anyone else either. So why bother?

If someone else wants to take over this blog from me, feel free to leave a comment. I'll gladly hand it over to you.

But I highly doubt that this will happen.

Here's the Pilotwings stage in action. Looks like it'll be similar to Venom from Melee. Or possibly more like Mute City. But probably the former.

Luigi's taunt, which is objectively the best taunt in the game, is back, ladies and gentlemen.

New Character Revealed: Luigi

Luigi (Super Mario Bros.) - Previously featured in Smash 64, Melee, and Brawl

Nintendo Direct Character Confirmation + August 7th Screenshots

So, the Smash Bros. website gave us this screenshot today:

Rather boring.

Today is a bad day to be a Smasher, right? WRONG!

This was in the latest Nintendo Direct:

Yep. L IS REAL 2401!

Luigi has just been confirmed to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.

Want more proof? Check out today's daily screenshot!

(Wii U Version)

Yes. For the first time, they actually CHANGED the daily screenshot after they had already posted one.

Awesome.

It does make me wonder whether Luigi will be a starting character this time around, as they usually save unlockables until post-release to reveal. But I guess they had to get it out sometime in 2013.

After all, it's The Year of Luigi.

Yep, a stage based on the SNES game Pilotwings.

I admit that I know nothing at all about the game, so I have no idea what this could mean for the franchise, if anything, as far as character inclusion is concerned.

Glitch through the bounty hunter FTW!

(And before I get a load of comments about it, I know that it's just overlapping character models and it isn't really a glitch.)

(3DS Version)

Looks like we're gonna get a Kid Icarus: Uprising stage, since the background here is virtually identical to the one in Chapter 11 of that game.

Brawl's physics engine, which allowed overlap, appears to be in use over Melee's, which did not.

So I think it's safe to say that you won't be wavedashing anytime soon.

Looks like the Animal Crossing stage is based on City Folk, not New Leaf.

I guess that makes sense, being the Wii U Version and all.

Something tells me that all of the pervs out there are happy today.

Please keep any perverted thoughts out of the comments section here, though.

I'd rather if this site remain family-friendly.

If this picture were given out of context, like so many are, then I would be confused as to what the hell it shows.

Fortunately, this is one where we do have context.

While not on the official website, Sakurai will occasionally post little captions to pictures on Miiverse.

This one is one where he explains.

Basically, each time a player is sent flying, the color that they get sent back with is the color of the player who attacked them, to inform everyone of who gets the KO in the event of a death.

Of course, that only matters in Time Mode. And while Time Mode is fun to play, I think most players can agree that Stock Mode is better.

And Coin Mode is crap, of course.

July 24th Screenshot + Potential Blog Issues

(Wii U Version)

I regret to inform you that, due to personal reasons, it is a possibility that I may not be able to post these pictures every day anymore.

I promise that I will try my hardest to do so, though.

And if I do skip days, I promise that I will post all of the screenshots that I missed when I post the next one.

Yes, we get it. Olimar has a Pikmin 3 design this time.

We already knew this. Why can't we get something new for once!?
